What is the basic things for a new guitar player? What should I buy with this guitar?

Is the one im getting, and do you know which guitar strap she uses, with the lightning strike on it? Like, what are the good, cheap amps and such?
I’ve always been happy when dealing with Musicians’ Friend.
Now, I don’t know much about guitar straps per se–but I know that you want to get a comfortable one. Don’t put too much emphasis into looking like Avril Levine, at some point you’re going to surpass her and be yourself.
Most of the guitar straps that Musicians’ Friend sells will be basically comfortable–so just shop. One with locking ends is nice.
As for good, cheap amps, you probably want to start with a little (15 or 20 amp) practice amp–something that you’ll want to keep forever b/c it fosters good relationships with the neighbors. When you’re ready to play out, you’ll want a really good, somewhat costly amp and speaker–along with the proper Avril-Levine style effects. The amp and speaker will contribute more to your tone than anything else, with the effects second and the pickups on the guitar third.
